College National Champions Rely On Flash Mob Jr.

February 11, 2014

This tough castable umbrella rig added the FLW College National Championship to its growing bass tournament resume this weekend when the University of Louisiana-Monroe’s Paul Clark and Brett Preuett collected more than $32,000 by fishing the diminutive YUM rig. Even more impressive is that the Warhawk team won with a sack one short of a limit. The ULM team’s Day 3 weight was 12.04 pounds with only four bass, and total three-day weight was 40.03 pounds.

February 11, 2014

Just seven years ago Jason Christie of Park Hill, OK, was coaching high school basketball while becoming a fearsome competitor in bass tournaments on Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees and other northeastern Oklahoma lakes. Dinger Does It Again For Alton

February 11, 2014

There may be no stronger supporter of the YUM Dinger than B.A.S.S. Elite Pro Alton Jones. Everywhere the Texan fishes, from the Bassmaster Classic all the way to simple fun-fishing on Falcon or his hometown waters, he’s got a bag of the soft plastic stickbaits close at hand. Latest in his list of YUM Dinger accomplishments is winning the B.A.S.S. Elite Series tournament on Florida’s St. Johns River March 15-19. After Day 1 of the event he sat in 17th place. He followed that with the biggest limit of the tournament – 28-pounds, 7-ounces -- on Day 2 and shot into the lead. An 18-pound bag on Day 3 set him up with a 9-pound lead over the next competitor heading into the final day.

February 11, 2014

Waco BASS Elite Pro Alton Jones has felt the crushing excitement of winning the biggest bass tournament in the world, the Bassmaster Classic (2008), but says he never had a day like he did Tuesday, Oct. 12, during a trip he donated to raise funds for Legacy Outfitters. Legacy Outfitters is a Christian organization that “outfits” men to be the best husbands, fathers and spiritual leaders they can be and Jones works closely with the group, even to the point of wearing their patch on his tournament jersey.
